2015 RABEF ETHIE Awards Recipients Announced
ROCHESTER, NY (September 28, 2015) The Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation (RABEF) presented its 2015 ETHIE Awards to Nichols Construction Team and Heritage Christian Services. The ETHIE recognizes businesses and organizations that do the right thing through strong ethical foundations, aspirations to high standards of business conduct, and the multifaceted nature of ethics in our daily lives.
Nichols Construction Team took home the ETHIE in the small business category. The company develops, designs, and constructs facilities for clients in the Greater Rochester Area.
ETHIE judging committee chair Jerry Elman said, “Nichols Construction Team is the strongest example of a business in this category that has a higher purpose than their work on construction projects and maximizing profits. They focus on making a positive difference to employees, customers, and the community through a truly integrated ethical culture throughout the organization which is very unique for a construction company.”
Heritage Christian Services received the ETHIE in the large business category. It serves 1,800 people with disabilities through residential support, day programs, service coordination, respite, community habilitation, employment supports, and licensed home care services. Elman said, “As the first non-profit recipient of the ETHIE, Heritage Christian Services stands out among both for profit and non-profit businesses in this category as an organization that makes ethics, values and caring the core of everything they do. As an organization of over 1600 employees, which is heavily regulated by state and federal agencies; their ethical culture and compass continues to keep everyone in the organization focused on the human aspect of everything they do.”
Tipping Point Communications and trü salon also made the 2015 ETHIE finalists list. RABEF plans to induct all four organizations into its Honor Roll at an event at Nazareth College January 28. Rochester Business Alliance/Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Duffy is scheduled to serve as keynote speaker.
An independent panel of judges carefully and impartially analyzes the completed ETHIE Award entry forms to determine the finalists, which then undergo a site visit by a member of the judging committee. The committee then names recipients of the annual awards. Learn more about applying for the ETHIE Awards at www.RochesterBusinessEthics.com.
